Hills to hike and trails to ride, starting at the gate — with the lake and its cycle paths a few minutes away.

Easy hike: Monte Moscal (Affi)
~7 km loopA scenic circular loop with about 300 m of climbing and panoramic lake views. Start in Affi to skip the lake traffic — fine for most fitness levels with good footwear.

Moderate hike: Bussate Tempesta panoramic trail
A moderate hike rewarded with some of the widest views in the area. A good level of fitness helps.

Moderate hike: trail from Garda / Bardolino
~3 km · ~2 hUp through woods, vineyards and old farmhouses to a summit over the lake. Not pram-friendly.

Easy hike: Monte Baldo — the ridge walk
3.6 km · 2 hFrom the top of the Malcesine cable car at 1,760 m, an almost level walk along the crest: the lake on one side, the Brenta Dolomites on the other. About 260 m of climbing — the gentlest way to stand on the mountain.

Moderate hike: Monte Baldo — Cima Pozzette
7 km · 3 hTrail 651 climbs the ridge over stones and low rock to the summit cross at 2,125 m, about 400 m of ascent. On a clear day the lake shows itself whole, from Riva to Sirmione.

Challenging hike: Monte Baldo — Sentiero del Ventrar
5 km · 2 hA kilometre of narrow, exposed path cut into the north face, steel cables in places. Graded EE by the Italian Alpine Club: sure footing and no fear of heights. May to November only — the north face never sees the sun.

Challenging hike: Monte Baldo — the peaks
9 km each wayThe long ridge traverse to Cima Valdritta, the top of Monte Baldo at 2,218 m, and on to the Telegrafo refuge. Around 800 m of ascent, short cabled sections, no water on the way. For experienced hikers with a settled forecast.

Via ferrata delle Taccole
Experts only · grade DThe one via ferrata on Monte Baldo: vertical, athletic and exposed, up a chimney and a long smooth slab to the Vetta delle Buse at 2,152 m. Under an hour on the cable, a full day with the approach. Own kit and real experience — or an alpine guide.

Biking & e-bikes
On the trailCavallina sits right on the Affi–Rivoli–Caprino cycle trail. Rent bikes or e-bikes in Affi (7 min by car, 30 min on foot) or by the lake, and join the Garda cycling path at Peschiera.

Stand-up paddle
On the lake · 8 kmGarda keeps its own timetable: the Peler blows from the north in the morning, the Ora answers from the south in the afternoon, and between the two the water goes flat as glass. That lull is when to go out. Boards can be rented — often delivered to the beach — at Bardolino, Lazise or Garda, and the bays around Punta San Vigilio hold the calmest water on this shore.
